On April 4th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport held an online briefing session for domestic and international press on the 「Corona 10 epidemiological investigation support system」.

This briefing session is based on foreign media coverage and data requests for major functions, operational performance, etc. since the system was officially launched on March 3 26, and is a non-face-to-face online method in accordance with the 'Social Distance-Strengthening Plan' It was held, followed by system description, video demonstration, and Q & A.

「Corona 19 epidemiological investigation support system」 is a system that automates epidemiological investigation procedures according to the 「Infectious Disease Prevention and Management Act」, and was developed by MOLIT based on smart city data hub technology that collects and processes large-scale city data. Currently, the system is transferred to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is used for corona19 epidemiological investigations.

Through this system, the process of collecting and analyzing the information of confirmed persons, such as the writing of official documents between 28 related organizations and the wired communication, which were mostly manual by hand, has been computerized and automated, greatly improving the speed and accuracy, and reducing the workload of epidemiologists. However, even when large-scale confirmers occur, they are able to cope more quickly.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport will continue to support the operation of this system to effectively respond to Corona 19, and will continue to strengthen collaboration with related organizations to support epidemiological investigations of infectious diseases.

In addition, it plans to promote active technical cooperation in response to the demands of foreign countries and international organizations expressing interest in the 「Corona 19 epidemiological investigation support system」.
